(A) In the state, a law called the Open and Public Meetings Act (OPMA) ensures that public officials make all their decisions under the public eye. OPMA specifies that every meeting of a quorum of a public body must be a public meeting with very few exceptions.
(B) The Town Council hereby establishes rules of order and procedure for public meetings of the town, including, but not limited to, the Planning Commission and Town Council.
(C) These procedures and policies are to ensure a parliamentary order and procedure as well as ethical behavior and civil discourse.
