§ 30.002 ELIGIBILITY AND RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS.
   (A)   Declaration of candidacy. A person filing a declaration of candidacy for a town office shall meet the requirements of UCA § 20A-9-203 1 .
   (B)   Registered voter. Any person elected to a municipal office shall be a registered voter in the town.
   (C)   Residency.
      (1)   Each elected officer of the town shall maintain residency within the boundaries of the town during the officer’s term of office.
      (2)   If an elected officer of the town establishes a principal place of residence, as provided in UCA § 20A-2-105 2 , outside the town during the officer’s term of office, the office is automatically vacant.
      (3)   If an elected town officer is absent from the town any time during the officer’s term of office for a continuous period of more than 60 days without the consent of the Town Council, the town office is automatically vacant.
      (4)   For the purposes of renting the Town Hall or Cobble Crest or purchasing grave sites at the resident rate, the following requirements shall apply:
         (a)   One year of continuous residency;
         (b)   A valid Utah driver’s license showing a current Kanarraville address; and
         (c)   Resident receives and pays a current Kanarraville town water bill.
