(A) Shared use paths currently do not exist in the city. These facilities (also referred to as “multi-use trails” and “multi-use paths”) accommodate various non-motorized users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, in-line skaters and runners. Shared use paths are typically paved (asphalt or concrete), but may also consist of an unpaved smooth surface as long as it meets Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), 42 U.S.C. §§ 12101 et seq., standards.
(B) Although shared use paths currently do not exist in the city, previous planning efforts have identified several potential path development opportunities (described later in this plan).
