§ 150.041 STATE MASTER PLUMBER’S LICENSE, REGISTRATION AND BOND.
Each person, firm or corporation doing plumbing or sewage installation, repair, or connection for hire within the city shall have a current license as Master Plumber from the State of Minnesota, and shall first apply to the city for registration with the city of the license, and shall file with the City Administrator the following bond, insurance, and other requirements:
   (A)   Bond. The applicant for registration shall file a bond in the amount of $3,000 in favor of the city and of the public in the form prescribed by the city or the State of Minnesota conditioned upon the faithful performance of work under the license and registration and the applicant’s compliance with this section. The bond shall be further conditioned upon a covenant that the city will be saved harmless from any loss, damage, cost, or expense by reason of improper or inadequate performance or for non-compliance with the terms of this section by the applicant or his or her agents or employees. The applicant for a permit may file with the city proof that he has given bond to the State of Minnesota, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes; and that said bond is in force and on file with the Secretary of State. The city shall not require a separate bond if the certification is given.
   (B)   Certificate of insurance. The applicant for registration shall also file a certificate of insurance or copies of public liability and property damage insurance policies containing a provision that they shall not be cancelled without 10 days’ written notice to the City Administrator showing coverage of not less than $200,000 for injuries, including accidental death to any 1 person and subject to the same limits for each person in the amount of not less than $600,000 on account of any 1 accident, and property damage insurance in the amount of not less than $50,000. The insurance certification required by this section shall not be required if the applicant provides certification that public liability insurance, including products liability, as allowed by Minnesota Statutes, is in force and certification is on file with the State Board of Health.
   (C)   Registration of license required. It is unlawful for any person to do any plumbing or sewage installation, repair or connection work for hire within the city without having first secured the registration of the license and having posted a bond and a certificate of insurance as required herein.
   (D)   Status of employees of license holder. No registered license shall permit any person other than its bona fide employees to perform the work under the license and registration.
   (E)   Expiration of registration. Each registration as provided hereunder shall expire annually on December 31.
