§ 72.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   DRIVER LICENSE. A valid license, issued by the State of Indiana or any other state, to operate a motor vehicle.
   FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. Liability insurance coverage on a golf cart, and other vehicles as defined in this ordinance, in an amount not less than is required by applicable state law for motor vehicle operated on public highways within the state.
   GOLF CART. A four-wheeled motor vehicle originally and specifically designed and intended to transport one or more individuals and golf cart clubs for the purpose of playing he game of golf on a golf course, all as defined by I.C. 9-13-2-69-7.
   OPERATE or OPERATION. To exercise any control over the function or movement of a golf cart, and all others listed operating on the city streets and alleys.
   UTILITY TASK VEHICLE (UTV). A motorized off-highway vehicle that:
      (1)   Is a small two- to six-person, two- or four-wheel drive, off-road vehicle, also called UTV (utility vehicle or utility task vehicle), a ROV (recreational off-highway vehicle), or a MOHUV (multipurpose off-highway utility vehicle); and
      (2)   Is defined as multipurpose off-highway utility vehicles (MOHUVs) as vehicles with:
         (a)   Four or more wheels;
         (b)   A steering wheel;
         (c)   Non-straddle seating; and
         (d)   Maximum speeds between 25 mph and 50 mph.
      (3)   In addition, MOHUVs have foot controls for throttle and braking, occupant restraints, and rollover protective structures.
   ROADWAYS.
      (1)   The entire width between the boundary lines of every way publically maintained when any part of the way is open to the use of the public for purposes of vehicular travel within the corporate limits of the city.
      (2)   The terms includes, but is not necessarily limited to, streets, alleys, roads, highways, and thoroughfares.
   SIDE BY SIDE (SBS). A four-wheeled vehicle designed for on and off-road use, such as a John Deere Gator, Cub Cadet Challenger, or a Polaris Ranger.
   STATE HIGHWAY. Any street under the control of and maintained by the State of Indiana.
