The Director of the Public Works Department shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council, and shall hold his or her office until his or her successor shall be appointed and qualified. He or she shall receive such salary as may be provided by ordinance of the Council at the time of his or her appointment. He or she shall hereinafter be referred to as the Director.
