For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
PERSON. Where referring to the owner or operator of any taxicab, means and includes any person, firm, association or corporation.
TAXICAB. Includes all motor vehicles carrying passengers for hire for which public patronage is solicited; provided, however, that railroad cars, street railway cars and motor buses operating under the authority and jurisdiction of the State Commerce Commission or Interstate Commerce Commission shall not be considered taxicabs within the meaning of this section.
