(A) Every dwelling or other house, shop, store and other building fronting any street or within the city shall be numbered by the city, under the direction of the Council, in accordance with the system of numbering hereinafter provided, with figures at less than two inches in height, said numbers to be placed in a conspicuous place above or on the side of the front door of the building to which the same are attached.
(B) All of the even numbers shall be placed on the north and west sides of the streets and the odd numbers on the south and east sides.
