ORDINANCE NO. 01-24

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A SUPPLEMENT TO THE JOHNSTON CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES FOR THE CITY OF JOHNSTON CITY, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, ILLINOIS.

   WHEREAS, American Legal Publishing Corporation of Cincinnati, Ohio, has completed a supplement to the Johnston City Code of Ordinances, which supplement contains all ordinances of a general and permanent nature enacted since the prior supplement to the Johnston City code of Ordinances; AND

   WHEREAS, it is the intent of Johnston City to accept these updated sections in accordance with the changes of the law of the State of Illinois; AND

   WHEREAS, this supplement in its entirety is necessary to provide for the usual daily operation of Johnston City and for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and general welfare of the municipality that this ordinance take effect upon passage:

   NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JOHNSTON CITY, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, ILLINOIS;

   Section 1.   That the supplement to the Johnston City Code of Ordinances as submitted by American Legal Publishing Corporation of Cincinnati, Ohio, and as attached hereto as "Exhibit A" is hereby adopted by reference.

   Section 2.   That such supplement in its entirety, twenty one (21) pages, shall be deemed published as of the day of its adoption and approval and is hereby authorized and ordered to insert such supplement into the copy of the Johnston City Code of Ordinances to be kept on file at the Office of the Clerk.

   Section 3.   That for the purpose of this ordinance, the definitions as written in this code shall apply unless the text clearly indicates a different meaning.

   Section 4.   That the City Clerk be and is directed hereby to publish this ordinance in pamphlet form pursuant to the Statutes of the State of Illinois (65 ILCS 5/1-2-4).

   Section 5.   That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately following its passage and approval in accordance with the Statutes of the State of Illinois.

THE AMENDED ORDINANCE AS STYLED ABOVE WAS PRESENTED AND PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF JOHNSTON CITY THIS 9th DAY OF January , 2024; AND

APPROVED BY THE MAYOR OF JOHNSTON CITY THIS 9th DAY OF January , 2024; AND

PLACED ON FILE THIS 16th DAY OF January , 2024.
