Each and every article or set of articles received by a precious metals dealer shall be kept with the aforementioned record form attached during the entire time it is in the possession of the licensee or until the item is altered or changed in such a way as to make it no longer readily identifiable, whichever happens first. All these articles shall be retained at the place of business or other location where the articles may be made readily available upon request, to the County Sheriff’s Department in the same state or condition in which they were received for a period of 12 consecutive days after their receipt, during which time they shall not be resold, exchanged or otherwise disposed of. Coins having no numismatic value, Krugerrands and manufactured ingots shall be so retained for 5 consecutive days.
