§ 35.01 COUNTY FCC-911 PUBLIC SAFETY ANSWERING POINT.
   The County Board designates the office of the County Sheriff as authorized established P.S.A.P. (public safety answering point) for the purpose of FCC 911 for the county. The Board designates the Sheriff of the county as the 911 Coordinator and Supervisor for this established 911 P.S.A.P. The Sheriff’s Department dispatch center will receive and handle all calls that are received on the designated 911 phone, and assure all required emergency or non-emergency services are dispatched immediately. All incoming calls received at the 911 P.S.A.P. by land line or cellular phone will be answered immediately with priority service. The County Sheriff’s Department dispatch center is fully operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The County Sheriff’s Department 911 Coordinator will assure all dispatch personnel answering the 911 phone calls and dispatching the proper agencies to handle each call received. This section authorizes all area L.E.C.’s (local exchange carriers) to provide 911 translations.
