(A) In accordance with 55 ILCS 5/5-1015, the County Board desires to establish appropriate practices for disposing of county-owned surplus personal property, which is no longer used or needed by the various departments of county government.
(B) It is in the best interests of the county for surplus personal property having a value of $50 or more to be sold at public auction.
(C) The Chairperson of the County Board may authorize the sale of surplus public property as needed, with the property to be sold to the best and highest bidder.
(D) The sale of surplus property must be advertised in advance via a local newspaper or online.
(E) A public auction may be conducted personally, or handled through electronic or online means, including the State of Illinois iBid Online Auction, or other service approved by the County Board.
(F) Details and archives of the sale of all county surplus property will be held by the office of the County Clerk.
