§ 33.006 EMERGENCY OR UNIQUE PURCHASES.
   (A)   Notwithstanding any other provisions of this subchapter, a contract for the procurement of services, materials, equipment and supplies may be authorized by the Chairperson of the County Board in the event that conditions exist and pose a threat to public health, welfare and safety, or to prevent or minimize serious disruption of government service; provided that such emergency procurements shall be made with such competition as is practicable under the circumstances.
   (B)   A written determination of the basis of the emergency and the selection of the particular contractor shall be included in the contract file, and shall be submitted to the appropriate standing oversight or ad hoc committee, as well as the County Board.
