13.36.030: ADMISSION OF INDUSTRIAL WASTES INTO PUBLIC SEWERS; PRETREATMENT:
A.   Where required, in the opinion of the approving authority, to modify or eliminate wastes that are harmful to the structure, processes or operation of the wastewater treatment works owned by the city, the user shall provide at his sole expense, such preliminary treatment or processing facilities as may be necessary to render waste acceptable for admission to the public sewers.
B.   All wastes containing soil, dirt and/or sand shall be settled a minimum of two (2) hours in an acceptable basin before discharge to a sewer.
C.   All industrial wastes must be passed through approved self- cleaning 20-gauge mesh screens unless otherwise allowed by the approving authority.
D.   All waste containing floating solids, greases, waxes, slurries or the like in small or trace amounts must be passed through a suitable trap before discharge into the sewerage system. (Ord. 620 §2, 1979: Ord. 586 §202, 1976)
