§ 34.07 ALLOWING OUTGOING SHERIFFS AND CERTAIN OFFICERS TO RETAIN OWNERSHIP OF THEIR SERVICE WEAPON.

   (A)   The Board of Commissioners hereby permits the outgoing Sheriff and officers who have 20 years of service to Jennings County Sheriffs Department to retain ownership of their service weapon.

   (B)   The Board of Commissioners hereby declares that SERVICE WEAPON is defined as the weapon the Sheriff carries daily while in office and not an expensive weapon the Sheriff purchases in contemplation of leaving office.
