§ 35.023 FIREARMS TRAINING FUND.
   (A)   Fund established; application; license. The city, pursuant to I.C. 35-47-2-3, does hereby establish an application fee of $10, as per statute, which fee shall be collected from every applicant filing an application with the Chief of Police for a handgun license. Five dollars of said fee shall be refunded if the license is not issued.

   (B)   Fees designated. The fee as collected under this section shall be deposited into the law enforcement agency’s Firearms Training Fund or other appropriate fund for training activities.

   (C)   Use of funds collected. Such application fee, as collected and deposited to the funds as above designated, shall be used by the city’s Police Department exclusively for the purpose of training law enforcement officers in the proper use of firearms or other law enforcement duties.

   (D)   Compliance rules and regulations. Account or accounts as established shall comply with any rules and regulations for proper accounting and expenditure of funds as propagated by the state’s Board of Accounts.
