§ 90.08 RABIES, SUSPECTED RABIES, DOG BITES.
   (A)   Any domesticated animal believed to have rabies or have been bitten by an animal believed to have rabies, or has bitten a human will be quarantined by the owner for 15 days.
   (B)   If said owner does not have the ability to quarantine the animal then the agent of the city will provide the quarantine of the animal for a period of 15 days.
   (C)   The owner of the animal quarantined will pay the fee of $50 to the agent of the city for the housing during the 15 days.
   (D)   Rabies vaccination tags or vaccination records must be produced within 24 hours of the time of incident.
   (E)   Abandoning of domesticated animals.
      (1)   It shall be unlawful for any person(s) to abandon a domesticated animal in the City of Jasonville. Any person(s) found to abandon an animal will be subject to a fine of $100 and will be subject to criminal charges for neglect of an animal.
      (2)   Fees for abandonment will be paid to the City Clerk Treasurer within 14 days of the violation. Those failing to pay the fees within the alloted time frame will be turned over to the collection agent for the City of Jasonville.
