For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
DAYLIGHT HOURS. Include:
(1) From May 1 through September 30 between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time; and
(2) From October 1 through April 30 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.
GOLF CART. A four-wheeled motor vehicle originally and specifically designed and intended to transport one or more individuals and golf clubs for the purpose of playing the game of golf on a golf course (See I.C. 9-13-2-69.7).
OFF-ROAD VEHICLE. Off-road vehicle as said term is used in I.C. 14-16-1 et seq. It also means utility terrain vehicle (UTV), side-by-side vehicle (SxS), recreational off-highway vehicle (ROV), and multi-use vehicle (MUV). Collectively, the afore described Off-Road Vehicles shall be referred to hereinafter as “ORVs.”
PERMIT. A document issued by the city to signify that a golf cart has been inspected and at the time of inspection met the requirements of this subchapter and applicable law.
RIDING MOWER. Any self-propelled lawn tractor or garden tractor, including zero turn mowers, designed primarily for the function of mowing/cutting grass, yard maintenance, gardening or other residential, purpose.
STREET or HIGHWAY. The entire width between the boundary lines of every way publicly maintained when any part of the way is open to the use of the public for purposes of vehicular travel. The term includes an alley in a city. The terms STREET and HIGHWAY are limited to those under the jurisdiction of the City of Jasonville (the “City”) (see I.C. 9-13-2-175).
