All provisions of I.C. 36-7-9-1 through I.C. 36-7-9-28 are hereby incorporated by reference as the Unsafe Building Law of the city. All proceedings within the city for the inspection, repair, and removal of unsafe buildings shall be governed by the state code and the provisions of this chapter. In the event the provisions of this chapter conflict with the state code, then the provisions of the state code shall control. The building standards and rules of the state’s Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission, as set forth in the state code and in the state administrative code, are adopted as the building standards and rules for matters considered under the terms of this chapter.
