(A) At the end of the detention periods set forth in §§ 90.04(B) or 90.05(C), the ownership of (or title to) a pet impounded under the provisions of this subchapter shall be transferred to the animal shelter operation Charleston Animal Society, which may attempt to adopt out the pet to a responsible new owner. All required fees must be paid at the time of adoption.
(B) No animal over three months of age shall be released or adopted until prepayment is made for vaccination against rabies.
(C) All animals adopted by the shelter operator shall be surgically sterilized or have provisions made for the animal's surgical sterilization prior to release for adoption.
