The council shall be composed of a mayor and six aldermen, three of which aldermen shall be elected by and from the electors of each ward in the City. The mayor shall be elected by and from the electors of the City at large. All members of the council shall hold their offices for terms of four years and until their successors are elected and qualify. The council shall be judges of the election of the mayor and aldermen.
