For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
CLASS IV CHANNEL. A signaling path provided by a cable communications system to transmit signals of any type1 from a subscriber terminal to another point in the cable communication system.
FCC. The Federal Communications Commission of the United States.
FRANCHISE. A franchise granted under this chapter (as amended from time to time by franchisor) by the City.
FRANCHISEE. An entity authorized to provide cable television services within the City by means of a Franchise granted under this chapter.
FRANCHISOR or CITY. The City of Jackson, Minnesota.
MAY. Is permissive.
MAY NOT. Is unconditionally prohibitive.
NON-VOICE RETURN COMMUNICATIONS. The provision of appropriate system design techniques with the installation of cable and amplifiers suitable for the subsequent insertion of necessary non-voice communication electronic modules.
SHALL and MUST. Are mandatory.
