§ 51.04 LARGE MOTOR APPLICATIONS.
   No motor of 50 or greater horsepower shall be connected to the city’s electric distribution system, directly or indirectly, unless and until:
   (A)   The starting and operating current characteristics of the motor have been reviewed and approved in writing by the Electric Department Superintendent; or
   (B)   The customer, at the customer’s expense, has installed such “soft start” equipment as may be approved in writing by the Electric Department Superintendent to avoid overloads, loss of voltage, low voltage, or other adverse effects upon the city’s distribution system that might otherwise result from operation of the motor.
