(A) Purpose. The purpose of this section is to outline steps to affirmatively support equal opportunity and fair housing in Jackson County, Arkansas.
(B) Responsible office. The office of the Jackson County Judge.
(C) Effective date. September 8, 1997.
(D) Program.
(1) The office of the County Judge will be the responsible entity for promoting fair housing and equal opportunity efforts in the county.
(2) The office of the County Judge will provide information to local low income and minority members of the county to assist them in understanding the laws and regulations pertaining to fair housing and equal opportunity.
(3) Information concerning fair housing and equal opportunity will also be available in the applications office of the County Judge.
(4) The office of the County Judge will provide information to local realtors and real estate interests concerning fair housing laws and regulations.
(5) At regular intervals the office of the County Judge will provide newspaper releases and radio spots concerning fair housing and equal opportunity and the availability of assistance to citizens seeking further information.
(6) The office of the County Judge will provide outreach programs to local minority groups and representatives in order to further understanding of fair housing and equal opportunity.
(7) The office of the County Judge will keep records outlining efforts and results in the area of fair housing and equal opportunity.
