The practice of going in and upon, and the telephoning of private residences in the City of Jackson, by hawkers, peddlers, solicitors, itinerant merchants or transient vendors of merchandise, not having been requested or invited to do so by the owner or occupant of private residences for the purpose of soliciting orders for the sale of goods, wares, merchandise, magazines, periodicals, photographs or other articles of publication or for the solicitation of services, and/or disposing of and/or peddling or hawking the same is declared to be a nuisance.
