§ 32.02 QUALIFICATION AND COMPENSATION.
Each member so appointed shall file an oath and fidelity bond, which shall be in the amount of $1,000, the cost of which shall be paid by the village. Each member so qualified shall be considered as an officer of the village. Each Commission member who obtains and maintains certification, or is in the process of obtaining certification, through the Illinois Fire and Police Commissioners Association, or their affiliates, shall receive compensation for service on the Commission in the amount of $50 per meeting. A member shall be deemed to be in the process of obtaining certification by providing proof of attendance and completion of at least one training module at a semi-annual conference hosted by the Illinois Fire and Police Commissioners Association. Following the commencement of the certification process, if a member misses two consecutive semi-annual conferences hosted by the Illinois Fire and Police Commissioners Association, the member shall no longer be eligible to receive compensation for service on the Commission. No member, once appointed and qualified, shall be removed except for cause and in the manner provided by statute. In the discretion of the Director/Chief of Police and the Village Administrator alternative training to the Illinois Fire and Police Commissioners Association may be designated as satisfying the training requirement for purposes of Commissioner compensation.
