§ 70.99 PENALTY.
   (A)   A violation of any provision of this title, unless otherwise specified, or of any offenses classified as "petty" offenses under the provisions of the Illinois Vehicle Code, shall be punishable by a fine of not less than $35 nor more than $1,000 for each offense. Offenses classified as "business" offenses under the provisions of the Illinois Vehicle Code adopted by reference herein shall be punishable as set forth herein.
   (B)   Offenses classified as "misdemeanors" under the provisions of the Illinois Vehicle Code adopted by reference herein shall be subject to a fine and/or imprisonment for a determinate term according to the following limitation:
      (1)   For a Class A misdemeanor, imprisonment for any term less than six months and/or a fine of not less than $200 and not to exceed $2,500 except as provided in subdivision (4) below.
      (2)   For a Class B misdemeanor, imprisonment for any term less than six months and/or a fine of not less than $100 and not to exceed $1,500.
      (3)   For a Class C misdemeanor, imprisonment for not more than 30 days and/or a fine of not less than $50 and not to exceed $1, 500.
      (4)   The court, upon making a finding of guilty for any offense under § 11-501 of the Illinois Vehicle Code adopted herein, in addition to any sentencing alternative elected by the court, shall impose a fine of not less than $750 and no more than $2,500.
   (C)   For a violation of any provision hereof in a street construction or maintenance work zone (stationary or moving), the minimum fine shall be not less than $75.
   (D)   Except for penalties under §§ 3-701, 3-702, 3-703, 6-303 and 11-501 of the Vehicle Code adopted herein, the penalty for any violation hereof shall be a fine only, according to the schedule in division (B) above. Where state law requires both a fine and imprisonment for misdemeanor violations to confer jurisdiction on the court, the penalties of both fine and imprisonment in division (B) above shall apply.
   (E)   Parking violations. Whoever violates any provision of Chapter 72 of the Village Code of Ordinances, for which a specific penalty has not been designated, shall be fined and pay to the village $30 for each such offense if paid within ten days, $50 if paid after ten days but before 45 days, and $100 if paid after 45 days. Such payment shall be made at the police station, a numbered receipt shall be issued for all money so received, and such money shall be promptly turned over to the Village Treasurer to be credited to the General Fund.
