§ 36.04 ETHICS ADVISOR.
   (A)   The President of the Board of Trustees, with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees shall designate an Ethics Advisor for the Village of Itasca. The duties of the Ethics Advisor may be delegated to an officer or employee of the Village of Itasca unless the position has been created as an office by the Village of Itasca. The Village Administrator shall be designated as Ethics Advisor for the Village of Itasca, unless and until formal action is taken by the President and Board of Trustees to make an alternate designation.
   (B)   The Ethics Advisor shall provide guidance to the officers and employees of the Village of Itasca concerning the interpretation of and compliance with the provisions of this chapter and state ethics laws, and conduct preliminary investigations of complaints alleging violations of the ordinance, as provided in § 36.06. The Ethics Advisor shall perform such other duties as may be delegated by the Board of Trustees.
   (C)   In the event that the Ethics Advisor is the subject of a complaint alleging a violation of this Ordinance, as described in § 36.06, the Village President shall assume the position of Ethics Advisor until formal action is taken by the President and Board of Trustees to make an alternate designation, or until the complaint against the Ethics Advisor has been deemed to be unfounded.
