§ 150.06 BUILDING CODE OFFICER.
   (A)   Class of title. Building Code Officer.
   (B)   Characteristics of the class. This is a supervisory position that also requires skill and knowledge of building codes and zoning ordinances. This work also requires the basic skills of planning, supervising and enacting the plans set out for the city for its codes and zoning enforcement.
   (C)   Essential elements. Assists in the creation, application and enforcement of all city building codes and zoning regulations.
   (D)   Nonessential elements. Performs other related duties as required.
   (E)   Desirable qualifications.
      (1)   Training and experience. Graduation from an accredited high school or its equivalent (GED) supplemented by one to three years’ experience in performing the duties described above.
      (2)   Special knowledge, skills and abilities.
         (a)   Extensive knowledge of all building codes and zoning ordinances;
         (b)   Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions;
         (c)   Ability to read and write; and
         (d)   State driver’s license.
   (F)   Compensation. This position shall be funded through permit and application fees that relates to the building permits and zoning permits as may be generated through the city and such other allocations as may be approved by the Board of Council.
