(A) All peace officers, as defined in the Kentucky Revised Statues are exempted from the provisions of this chapter so long as they are acting in the line of duty.
(B) All other persons who have lawfully discharged a firearm in protection of themselves or other persons under such circumstances as a reasonable person would feel justified in so acting.
