(A) No person shall keep or possess within the city limits, excepting any part of the city having been designated as an agricultural zone, any non-domestic type animal, including, but not limited to, chickens, ducks or other fowl, pigs, goats, sheep, horses, cows, nor any other animal (whether tame or otherwise), other than domestic dogs, cats, small birds, hampsters, guinea pigs or other small animals of the kind generally and reasonably considered as pets and which may be purchased at a legitimate pet store business, except, however, rabbits may be kept as hereinafter set forth.
(B) Snakes and other small reptiles may be kept only upon the owners real property, home, residence, apartment and the like. No snakes or other reptiles may be possessed, exhibited, paraded or otherwise be found or kept in any public place. Except, however, nothing herein shall be construed to mean any legitimate pet business may not sell and display such on their premises or that the animals may not be transported, as is reasonable and necessary for veterinary services or for any organized educational display or exhibit where the permission of that is granted by the school, civic group and the like.
(C) In addition to any other animals allowed to be kept within the city limits herein, farm animals or livestock may be kept within any portion of the city designated as an agricultural zone.
(D) No animal of any kind which may be considered non-domesticated, wild or otherwise inherently dangerous may be kept within any part of the city limits.
