It is the purpose of this title to protect individuals of the City against discrimination as defined in this chapter. Moreover, this title provides for execution within the City of the policies of the Iowa Civil Rights Act of 1965, as amended, the Federal Civil Rights Acts, as amended, the preamble and part I (articles 1 - 7) of the "International Convention On the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (1966)", as amended, and the promotion of cooperation among the City, State and Federal agencies which are charged, presently and in the future, with enforcing these Acts and instruments.
