Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, it is unlawful for any person to perform any work subject to the provisions of the building code unless he/she is currently licensed to do so under applicable provisions of this code or state law. Such work includes, but is not limited to, general contracting, electrical, plumbing, gas appliance installation, high pressure steam fitting and elevator construction. (1974 Code § 400.05)
