A. Vaccination: No person residing in the City shall keep a dog over six (6) months of age within the City for more than ten (10) consecutive days unless the person has had the dog properly vaccinated by a licensed veterinarian and can show proof of such vaccination upon request. If a dog is found to be unvaccinated the owner of the dog is guilty of a misdemeanor.
B. Unvaccinated Dogs/Impounded Dog Determined To Be Unvaccinated: Unvaccinated dogs subject to impoundment by an animal control official may not be released from the City's contract impound facility without a valid vaccination record. If a dog is found to be unvaccinated the owner of the dog is guilty of a misdemeanor. The dog owner shall properly vaccinate the dog by a licensed veterinarian prior to the dog being returned to the owner. (Ord. 1367, 4-8-2019, eff. 5-1-2019)
