The salary of the Mayor is $6,000.00 per year. Effective January 1, 2026, the salary of the Mayor is ten thousand two hundred fifty dollars ($10,250) per year. In addition, the Mayor shall be eligible to receive a single membership benefit to the Indianola Wellness Campus, under the same terms and conditions as provided to other part-time employees of the City of Indianola. Effective each January 1 thereafter, the Mayor's compensation shall be adjusted by the average increase in prices for the Midwest region as established by the federal government via the consumer price index for the prior twelve (12) months. The Mayor's compensation shall be payable bi-weekly to coincide with the City's normally scheduled pay periods.
