There is hereby created the office of police officer of the city.
(A) Qualifications for members of the Police Department shall be such as are set forth in the Kentucky Revised Statutes.
(B) All police officers shall be subject to removal from office at the pleasure of the Mayor or City Council, subject to rights guaranteed to such officers by law.
(C) A police officer shall, before entering upon his or her duties, take the oath of office as provided in the state’s Constitution, § 228.
