The compensation of the City Treasurer shall be paid in an amount as established by the City Council pursuant to KRS 83A.070. Bonuses and extra compensation may be paid to the City Treasurer for services rendered. Such a determination to pay bonuses and extra compensation to the City Treasurer for services rendered shall be made by the City Council and shall become part of the fixed compensation of the City Treasurer subject to the decision of the City Council to appropriate the funds set forth in the annual budget ordinance of the city.
