If any person carries about his or her person, hid from common observation, any pistol, dirk, Bowie knife, razor, slingshot or any weapon of like kind, he or she shall be punished as provided in § 10.99, and such weapons shall be forfeited and sold, in such manner as the Judge may deem best and the proceeds paid into the town treasury; provided, however, that no person shall be punishable under this section who has been granted permission to carry concealed weapons in accordance with the laws of the state.
