§ 37.54 MATERNITY LEAVE.
   (A)   Requests for maternity leave may be granted for a period of time up to, but not exceeding, three months. Under extenuating circumstances and with a physician's certificate, additional maternity leave may be granted.
   (B)   An employee who is not planning to return to work following maternity leave shall submit a timely resignation to allow the city's staffing needs to be met.
   (C)   Maternity leave as enumerated in division (A), shall be a non-pay status, but employees may utilize unused sick leave and vacation leave.
