§ 37.51 ANNUAL VACATION.
   Annual vacation is important to the employees' health and well being and provides rest and offers a change of pace. All permanent employees of the city shall be granted annual vacation at full pay at the current salary rate. The following schedule shall apply:
   (A)   Vacation qualification shall accrue at the rate of 0.2 vacation days for each five day work week, with a maximum of ten days during a calendar year.
   (B)   After five full years of employment, qualified vacation shall accrue at the rate of 0.3 days for each work week with a maximum of 15 days during a calendar year.
   (C)   Vacation days must be earned or accrued on a monthly basis and can only be taken after they have been earned. They shall be taken no later than the calendar year in which they are earned, provided, however a maximum of five days leave may be carried forward to the end of the following calendar year. Any additional days will be forfeited if not taken by the end of the calendar year. All carry-over days must be approved by the City Commission.
   (D)   Part-time employees shall be eligible for the same vacation benefits as a full-time employee, but on a pro-rated basis, up to 50% of full time eligibility.
   (E)   Scheduling of all vacation shall be coordinated with the City Administrative Officer in advance.
