§ 113.20 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this subchapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   "TRANSIENT MERCHANTS", "PEDDLERS", or "HAWKERS." Individuals, associations, or corporations, acting for themselves or through their agents, or as agents of others, who go or intend to go upon the public thoroughfares or within the right of way of public thoroughfares of the city calling at private homes for the purpose of selling, offering, and/or soliciting the sale of merchandise or services for immediate or later delivery; or who transact or intend to transact any temporary business activity within the city by selling services or merchandise, by sample or otherwise, or who, for the purpose of carrying on this business, hire, lease or occupy within the city, any structure or part thereof or any vehicle, trailer, railway car, vacant lot, parking lot, thoroughfare or right of way of a public thoroughfare, or tent for exhibition and/or sale, whether for present or future delivery; or intend to do any of those things within the city, for a period of less than 100 days in any 12 calendar month period.
