§ 97.04 SOUND GENERATION AND/OR AMPLIFICATION RESULTING FROM THE OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE.
   (A)   Generally. No motor vehicle shall be operated in a way which generates or permits to be generated any loud noise, including but not limited to such sound as results from the utilization of compression release engine brakes and/or similar devices, and/or exhaust systems which have been illegally modified or are defective or are not in compliance with the noise emission requirements of then applicable state and federal law, which is likely to cause material inconvenience or annoyance to reasonable persons of ordinary sensibilities.
   (B)   Specifically. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the following acts are declared to be particular, but not an all inclusive enumeration of, public nuisances.
      (1)   The continuous or sporadic repeated sounding of any horn or signal device of a motor vehicle for an unreasonable period of time and when not used as a danger signal.
      (2)   The use of motor vehicle with or without the attachment or removal of one or more appurtenances thereto so as to create loud and unnecessary grating, grinding, rattling, or other noise. This shall include the use of any motor vehicle the use of which causes such noise as the result of a modified and/or defective exhaust system, or as a result of unnecessarily rapid acceleration, deceleration, revving the engine, or tire squeal.
