For the purposes of this subchapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings.
"CONTAINER." A dumpster, roll-off box, or portable storage unit.
"DEPARTMENT." The city's Department of Public Works and Engineering Services.
"DUMPSTER." A container utilized for the temporary storage of solid waste materials, debris, and/or recyclable materials, that can be emptied into refuse trucks for the removal of its contents. Dumpsters are typically range in size from one cubic yard to less than ten cubic yards.
"OWNER." Any person who holds title or has a present-possessory interest to real estate.
"PERSON." An individual, company, corporation, partnership or other entity.
"PORTABLE STORAGE UNIT." Any container designed for the outdoor storage of personal property, including a "POD" or similar storage container, which is typically rented to owners or occupants of property for temporary use and which is delivered and removed by vehicle.
"ROLL-OFF BOX." A large container utilized for the temporary storage of solid waste materials, debris and/or recyclable materials, that is delivered to a site by means of a flat-bed truck, is placed on site through a hydraulically-assisted or other mechanized means, and must be removed in the same manner. Roll-off boxes typically range in size from ten to 40 cubic feet.
"STREET." Includes any alleys, avenues, boulevards, lanes, roads, highways, viaducts, and all other public rights-of-way located within the city.
