(A) In order to provide for the adequate staffing of the Police Department, there is hereby established the following positions which may be from time to time filled.
(1) Chief of Police;
(2) Assistant Chief of Police;
(3) Lieutenant;
(4) Detective Sergeant;
(5) Corporal;
(6) Detective—Narcotics;
(7) Patrol person;
(8) Probationary patrol persons.
(B) The filling of these positions and the number of personnel required for each position shall be recommended by the Chief of Police to the Board of Public Works and Safety.
