§ 72.46 BUREAU OF VIOLATIONS.
   There is hereby created the Bureau of Violations within the powers and duties of the office of the City Clerk. A copy of each citation issued for nonmoving traffic violations shall be deposited with the City Clerk, whose duty it shall be to collect all fines and to maintain appropriate and accurate records of all fines paid to him or her. Fines shall be payable at the office of the Clerk. The fines shall be in the amount of $10 for each violation if paid within five days from the date of issuance. If any fine is not paid within the five-day period, the Clerk shall send to the owner of the motor vehicle to which the official police tag was affixed a written notice informing him or her of the violation and warning the owner that he or she will be held responsible for the fine and that in the event the violator or owner of the vehicle to which the official police tag was attached fails to appear at the Bureau of Violations within five days after the date of issuance of the written notice, a complaint and warrant of arrest will be issued. The fine for any violation within five days after the date of the sending of the notice shall be $20. All fines collected by the City Clerk under this section shall be transferred to the Treasurer of School District #37 at the end of each month. In addition to the fine, an administrative fee of $5 shall be collectible by the City Clerk at the time of payment of the fine which shall be retained by the city for its costs of collection.
