§ 32.07 FIREFIGHTERS.
   (A)   New applicants must have a minimum of a high school education or equivalency qualification, be 18 years of age or older and have a valid Minnesota driver’s license.
   (B)   They shall become members of the Fire Department only after a six-month probationary period; within two years of date of hire, must obtain and maintain EMT certification; and within three and one- half years of date of hire must obtain and maintain firefighter I/II rating.
   (C)   The Council may require that each candidate, before he or she may become a probationary firefighter, satisfy certain minimum requirements and any other qualifications which may be specified by the City Council, including that he or she must pass a satisfactory mental and physical examination and background check.
