§ 90.09 DISPOSITION OF UNCLAIMED DOGS OR CATS.
   Any dog or cat which is not claimed in timely fashion as provided in this chapter, may be sold to anyone desiring to purchase the dog or cat if not requested by licensed educational or scientific institutions under state law. All sums received in excess of the costs and redemption fee shall be held by the City Clerk-Treasurer for the benefit of owner and if not claimed in one year, the funds shall be placed in the General Fund of the city. Any dog or cat which is not claimed by the owner or sold shall be given away to a suitable home. In the event the dog or cat is not claimed by owner, sold or given away to a suitable home, the dog or cat shall be humanely disposed of and buried by the Animal Control Officer or his or her designee.
