§ 32.02 HISTORIC DISTRICT.
   (A)   Description of District. 
      (1)   The city’s Historic Preservation District shall encompass the area designated by the National Register of Historic Places at the time of adoption of this chapter.
      (2)   Other district or individual sites that are hereafter recorded in the National Register of Historic Places, selected in accordance with the provisions of this chapter or in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Board of Cultural Preservation pursuant to SDCL Chapter 1-19A may be added to an existing district, to newly established districts, or may be established as individual sites.
      (3)   The city’s Historic District, at the time of the adoption of this chapter, shall contain the following legally described properties, to wit:
         (a)   Original town.
            1.   Blocks 1, 2, 19, 21, 22, 23, 31-37, 39 and 40.
            2.   Lots 1-12 of Block 9.
            3.   Lots 1-12 of Block 8.
            4.   Lots 23-24 of Block 3.
            5.   Western one-half of Lots 1-6 of Block 18.
            6.   Western one-half of Lots 1-6 of Block 14.
         (b)   Stewart’s Second Addition. All with the exception of Blocks 1, 2, 8-13 and the western one-half of Block 7 including Lots 1-8.
         (c)   Supplemental Addition. All with the exception of Lots 1-11 of Block 45 and all of Block 48.
         (d)   Minnekahta First Addition.
            1.   Blocks 4, 17 and 18.
            2.   Lots 1, 2, 19 and 20 of Block 16.
            3.   Lots 1-13 of Block 5.
            4.   Northern one-half of Block 3.
            5.   Eastern one-half of Block 6, eastern one-half of Lots 4-1.
            6.   All of Lots 1 and 2 of Block 2; northern one-half of Lots 3-10 of Block 2.
         (e)   Minnekahta Second Addition.
            1.   Lots 52-27 of Block 37.
            2.   Lots 1-6 of Block 28.
            3.   Lots 1-6 of Block 24.
            4.   Lots 1-12 of Block 26.
            5.   Lots of 1-12 of Block 25.
            6.   Lots of 6-17 of Block 32.
         (f)   All of Sulphur Springs Addition.
         (g)   Rose Hills Addition.
            1.   Lots 8-17 of Block 50.
            2.   Lots 6-9 of Block 49.
         (h)   Moore’s Addition. Outlots 1 and 2.
         (i)   All of Central Addition.
         (j)   Area owned by federal government occupied by the V.A. Center, Hot Springs.
   (B)   Regulations applying to historic sites. Any historic district, site or place so designated by this chapter shall also be subject to the scope, rules, regulations and uses permitted by the city zoning ordinance (Chapter 155 of this code of ordinances). The designated historic places or sites shall be subject to all district regulations that apply to the zoning district in which the historic place or site is located, in addition to all applicable rules and regulations contained in this chapter.
   (C)   Signing of historic places and sites. All historic places, buildings or sites so designated by this chapter shall display an appropriate sign or marker, supplied by the owner, on or near the historic building or site indicating that said building or site has been designated a historic property.
