The chief executive of the city shall be a Mayor, who shall be a citizen of the United States, a qualified elector of and reside within the limits of the municipality. The Mayor shall serve terms of two years and may hold more than one term. The Mayor shall hold his or her office for two years or until his or her successor is elected and qualified. This provision shall take effect in 2008.
