3-2-2: TREE COMMITTEE:
   A.   Created: There is hereby created and established a city tree committee for the city, which shall consist of three (3) members, one of which may be a council member, who shall be appointed by the mayor with the approval of the city council.
   B.   Compensation: Members of the committee shall serve without compensation. (Ord. 198, 9-11-2002)
   C.   Term Of Office: The term of the three (3) persons to be appointed by the mayor shall be three (3) years, except that the term of two (2) of the members of the first committee shall be only one year and the term of one member of the first committee shall be for two (2) years.    D.   Vacancies: In the event that a vacancy shall occur during the term of any member, their successor shall be appointed for the unexpired portion of the term.
   E.   Power And Authority: This chapter provides full power and authority over all trees, plants and shrubs located within street rights of way, parks, public golf courses and public places of the city. The tree committee and city arborist have the right to advise the private sector as to the applicability of this chapter to the trees, plants and shrubs located on private property that constitute a public nuisance as described herein.
   F.   Journal; Meetings; Quorum: The tree committee shall keep a journal of its proceedings. The committee shall meet as necessary. A majority of the members shall be present for the transaction of business. (Ord. 198, 9-11-2002)
